Baby Shower Gift Ideas
There are a lot of great things to buy as baby shower gifts. Here’s a sample list.
A nice diaper bag is a great gift for parents-to-be. I suggest choosing one that fits the personality/style of the parents. If they aren’t into, say, a Disney bag covered with Mickey Mouse designs, then maybe a solid color or classier design would work.
A few newborn clothes such as onesies and sleepers are great. Keep in mind that babies grow quickly, so it’s a good idea to buy 3-6 month sizes and even 6-9 month sizes. It won’t be long before they outgrow the infant apparel.
Baby Bath Set
Cute towel and wash cloth sets, rubber ducky and other bath toys, and of course the baby shampoos and body washes make great gifts.
Photo Albums/Photo Frames
A lot of photos will likely be taken, so the gift of a photo album or frame will help them display those super cute baby photos.
Baby Keepsake Items
There are a variety of nice choices. One of my favs is the handprints and footprints photo frames and keepsake books.
Babies need certain things, without a doubt, and diapers are a definite must. Whether it’s cloth or disposable (depending on what the parents-to-be choose), the diapers are going to be used. It may seem like a less classy type of gift, but you can easily throw in a small gift with it, and the diapers would be like a bonus.
Diaper Pail With Refill Bags
I had the Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail by Munchkin for my son, and it worked great. The refill bags can be pricey, but they last a while so it’s worth it.
I think this isn’t a very common baby shower gift, but it’s definitly a good one. Helping the parents-to-be start a collection of reading material for the baby (picture books and cute stories), it also helps to bond with the baby. Snuggling with baby and reading to him/her is just awesome.
A soothing way to keep the baby relaxed (thus helping mom and dad to relax!), a baby swing is a good gift.
Does the baby’s nursery have a specific theme? Cute wall art or a decorative pillow (not for the baby’s crib), even those hanging wall letters that spell the baby’s name (a popular item) makes a good gift.
Another way to keep the baby entertained and relaxed, these are some of the top items parents want.
Cozy Slippers/Robes For The Parents-To-Be
Newborns need to be fed and their diapers changed every couple of hours, so anything that helps the parents to be more comfortable is a plus.
Small Baby Toys
Small toys like rattles, baby keys, and other such items in the baby toy section make great gifts.
Baby Gyms & Play Mats
These things are great to keep babies entertained, and are light-weight so they can be moved from one room to another easily.
They can be pre-made, or self-made. A nice basket full of goodies is a great gift.
Babies ‘R Us is a great choice, but there are plenty of others.
