What Items You Should Definitely Pack In Your Hospital Bag
I did some research on this before I had my first baby, and read what other moms had suggested having and also regretted not having in their hospital bag. Then I experienced it for myself and let me tell you, I was soo thankful to have found out ahead of time what things I’d need!
First off, I’d like to suggest that around 6 months into your pregnancy preparing a hospital bag, for taking with you when you go into labor. You will be so glad you did! Okay, here we go…
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothes. You won’t be putting your jeans on for a while, and will have a heavy period-like time for a month or so. First time moms, this is a head’s up!
I suggest bringing pajama bottoms and some comfortable sports pants, maybe even an extra pair or two, just in case you get blood or something on them. Not to sound gross, but that’s a possibility.
Cell Phone With Charger. Don’t forget this! It’s easier to remember your phone than to remember to bring the charger, as well. Especially if you’re going to be taking photos with it (like I did).
Personal Care Items. Such as deodorant, shampoo & conditioner, hand/body lotion, hair brush, chapstick (you’d be surprised how dry your lips can get during delivery), and other such items that you use daily. Oh, and don’t forget your tooth brush and toothpaste! Keep in mind that it will probably be a day or two at the hospital, so no reason to bring large amounts of this stuff. Travel sizes are ideal.
Your Baby’s Diaper Bag. Okay, so this doesn’t quite fit into your personal hospital bag, but it’s a good idea to have your baby’s diaper bag with you at the hospital.
